How well recognised and respected is the CSPO course?

The Scrum Alliance CSPO course is one of the oldest and most widely recognised product owner courses available.

Developed in conjunction with Certified Scrum Trainers, the Certified Scrum Product Owner course is designed to teach you the basics of scrum and how to become a product owner in a scrum team.

The course and certification are internationally recognised and respected.

You will find that having the CSPO certification will help you get a foot in the door when it comes to searching for a job or it will help you progress within an organisation as you accumulate experience and expertise in the role.

The Certified Scrum Product Owner course is a 2-day course, which isn’t enough to provide you with deep level expertise in the role, but it is a rock-solid foundation in the role and will prepare you well enough to start your career as a product owner.

What separates the CSPO from other Product Owner courses?

In some frameworks, such as SAFe, an instructor for the product owner course simply needs to attend a 5-day instructor’s course before they can teach a course.

The Scrum Alliance insist that a Certified Scrum Product Ownership course is taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer that has deep expertise as both a practitioner as well as an educator.

It can take years to become a Certified Scrum Trainer and it requires peer validation throughout the process. In other words, other CSTs need to vouch for your skills and must have co-trained with you on a Certified Scrum Product Owner course.

The CSPO course is respected because the Certified Scrum Trainers use a blend of theoretical and practical elements to embed knowledge and expertise.

Many of them have war stories from their past experiences that can really help you understand the role as well as its challenges significantly better.

The purpose of the CSPO course is to prepare you for the role of a product owner and as such, you will go through product owner simulations on the course that teach you how to work with all elements of the product owner role.

So, you are in good hands when it comes to a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Product Owner course.

The credential is internationally certified by Scrum Alliance and recognised by practitioners, recruiters and peers within the industry.
